🎯 The primary objective of the Biconomy DAO is to issue community grants, solve bounties and ensure community participation within the ecosystem.

The long-term goal for Biconomy is to progressively decentralize more and more of its decision-making to the community. We want to start with baby steps since this is the first time we will be decentralizing decisions. We will continue to monitor the DAO, collect feedback and improve our systems and frameworks as we go ahead.

Initially, we want to start by involving our community in grant decisions and allow them to become a guiding light for us in bootstrapping ecosystem growth and general Web3.0 adoption.

The budget for the initial six months is USD 2M worth of BICO tokens. The Biconomy General Council (BGC), along with active participation from our community, will deploy these funds to propel the growth of the Biconomy ecosystem.

We will run six-month-long epochs. We are calling the genesis epoch - Epoch Zero. After each epoch, we can implement the past learnings and refine the overall DAO structure and future scope.

The current scope and responsibilities are:

Community Grant Disbursal

Community grants include grants to projects and dApps building using Biconomy, grants to developer communities for bounties, sponsorships and rewards for hackathons and events, and general grants to other partners/agencies to help the ecosystem’s growth and prosperity.

Any ideas, growth campaigns, project integrations, marketing initiatives, ancillary solutions, bug fixes, and technical improvements that can help us get better as a company and as a community are eligible for grants. The scope of grants is not limited to project grants.

Grant approvals will happen either via Rapid Grant Application or via Governance voting on Snapshot.

If you can contribute to the ecosystem and need a grant, you should apply.
